DELHI METRO PHASE IV:
Delhi government had approved all 6 proposed corridors which are of the 103.95 km length in december 2018.
But the Union Cabinet's on March 7 ,2019 had approved only 3 out of 6 proposed routes which are Majlis Park-Maujpur, RK Ashram- Janakpuri West and Aerocity-Tuglakabad corridor with expected completion date of 2026.
Now the phase IV will only be 61.679 km with 46 metro stations of which 17 will be elevated.
The total cost is pegged around 25,000 crore, which will be partially shared by the Delhi Government.
After completion of Phase IV total length of Delhi Metro would be exceed 450 km and this may make Delhi Metro the 4th longest metro system by route after Beijing subway, Shanghai metro, Guangzhou metro in the world.
Delhi government started the first metrolite concept in india.
The maximum speed Operational speed of metrolite is 60 km/h but it's speed is restricted to 25 km/h. The train capacity is to carry around 300 passengers according to sources.
Two light rail lines have been approved: between Kirti Nagar – Dwarka ECC (Sector 25) (19 km) and between Narela and Rithala (21.7 km).
According to the sources, The Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs is planning to starts metrolite system for the remainning 3 corridors which are Inderlok-Indraprastha, Lajpat Nagar-Saket G-Block and Rithala-Bawana-Narela corridors covering of 42.28 km.

INTRODUCTION :
The Delhi Metro Rail
Corporation Limited (DMRC) was registered on 3rd May 1995 under the Companies Act, 1956 with equal
equity participation of the Government of the National Capital Territory of
Delhi (GNCTD) and the Central Government to implement the dream of construction
and operation of a world- class Mass Rapid Transport System (MRTS).
The Delhi Metro has been instrumental in
ushering in a new era in the sphere of mass urban transportation in India. The
swanky and modern Metro system introduced comfortable, air conditioned and
eco-friendly services for the first time in India and completely revolutionized
the mass transportation scenario not only in the National Capital Region but
the entire country
The DMRC opened its
first corridor between Shahdara and Tis Hazari on 25th December, 2002.
Presently, the
Delhi Metro network consists of about 389 Km with 285 stations. The network has
now crossed the boundaries of Delhi to reach NOIDA and Ghaziabad in Uttar
Pradesh, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Bahadurgarh and Ballabhgarh in Haryana.
A company under the name
DELHI METRO RAIL CORPORATION was registered on 03-05-95 under the Companies

- Extra wide flap-gates for wheelchaires.
- Tactile path for the visually empaired.
- Provision of wheel chairs at station and reserved spaces for wheelchairs in metro train.
- Toilets for persons with disabilities.
- Ramps are provided where there is change in the level.
- Provision of hand-rails alongside stairs.
- Lifts have been provided with wide access doors, hand-rails, call-buttons in braille & at low height, audio & video indications & telephone buttons to comunicate with CCC in emergency.

Planning work for Phase V has not started. However the following corridors, while not specifically tied or approved to any expansion phase have been suggested to be constructed in the near future:
Former Managing Director of DMRC Shreedharan stated that by the time Phase IV is completed, the city will need Phase V to cope with rising population and transport needs.

A similar line was proposed again during the later stages of planning for Phase IV, this time it was proposed to run between Dwarka – Prem Piao with the rest of the corridor to Narela transferred over to an extension of the Red Line.
- The Red Line extension to Narela was approved for Phase IV but the remaining section between Dwarka – Prem Piao was subsequently dropped from Phase IV. Rithala to Narela portion has been approved and included in the phase-IV.
- Raja Nahar Singh – Rundh: Southern extension the Violet Line.
- Kashmere Gate – Wazirabad Surghat: Northern extension the Violet Line.

- Narela to Sonipat – approved:
An extension of Red Line. In June 2017, the Government of Haryana's cabinet approved the investment of INR 968.20 crore (US$150 million), as its share on the 80:20 equity ratio with the union Government, for the 4.86 kilometres (3.02 mi) extension of Delhi Metro from the existing Rithala metro station to Sonipat via Bawana with three elevated stations at Sector 5 of Narela in Delhi, on Delhi border at Kundli Industrial Area and Nathupur Industrial Area in Sonipat, which are planned to be built as part of Phase IV. - HUDA City Centre to Gurgaon railway station – approved 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) long line that is envisioned to be a metro ring around Gurugram. The proposal was prepared in November 2017 for the two routes: one is Yellow Line extension from HUDA City Centre to Gurgaon railway station and another from IFFCO Chowk – Dwarka Sector 21.
- HUDA City Centre to Manesar City – approved: An extension of Yellow Line, included in the Gurugram Masterplan 2031, approved by the Haryana govt will go up to Panchgaon Chowk in Manesar,
- City Park – Rohtak City: A Green Line extension. As of July 2017, proposed only and not yet approved.
- Ballabhgarh – Palwal City – Jewar International Airport: An extension of Violet Line. As of July 2017, proposed only and not yet approved.
- Dhansa Bus Stand – Jhajjar City: A Grey Line extension, proposed only and not yet approved.
- Old Gurgaon – Old Faridabad via HUDA City Centre – Greater Noida Not yet approved.
Uttar Pradesh (UP) projects
- Shiv Vihar – Baghpat: Pink Line extension. Proposed only, not approved.
- Noida – Noida International Airport: a 35 kilometres (22 mi) long surface running line along the Yamuna Expressway serving the proposed new Noida International Airport. The line is envisioned to be completed by 2025 and will connect with the Noida Metro.
Note: Delhi government also planning to built RRTS (rapid rail transit system) to connect Neighbour cities which are Delhi-Meerut , Delhi-Alwar, Delhi-Panipat corridor.
